One of the clock faces

The tower contains the clock and the only bell., Weighing 8.5cwt and bearing the inscription ‘John Rudhall, Gloster, fecit 1813’ it hung in Christ Church,, New Street first. There may have been the money for an extra 30 feet of height but there was no money for the intended peal of bells, Some fittings were installed in expectation of a peal of 8 bells but were never used. The single bell chimes the hours after a complete restoration in 2021. The mechanism was built by Gillett and Johnston of Croydon in 1900,. Electric autowinders manufactured and fitted by John Smith of Derby now keep the clock regulated to a high degree of accuracy
