Frank O'Sullivan scoops Midlands SPOTY Unsung Hero award


In St Agatha's Hall behind the church is the inspirational Birmingham City Boxing Club with chief coach Frank O'Sullivan. F ran is the Midlands winner of the BBC Sports Persoanlity of the Year  'Unsung Hero' award and nw goes into the national award shortlist. The winner is announced on BBC1 & Radio 5Live at 'SPOTY' on December 17th. Good luck , Frank, you deserve to win after 76000 of voluntary hours contributed towards the youth of Sparkbrook and surroundings.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church is holding its Holy Week and Easter services at St Agatha's
this year. Reckoned by some to be the second oldest church in the world, they trace their foundation to the 4th century AD. The church was bursting att the seams for Palm Sunday (above)



St Agatha's Festival 2017 - a Joyful Occasion

We were fortunate indeed to have as principal celebrant and preacher, Jonathan Goodall - Bishop of Ebbsleet. His inspiring sermon will soon be available online on this site. Over 130 people including 10 priests, from Birmingham and the Black Country, joined St Agatha's people in celebrating Saint Agatha.

Bishop Jonathan to celebrate and preside at Festival Mass

You are warmly invited to join us for the mass to celebrate our patron, Saint Agatha, on Sat 4th February at 11:00am. We are fortunate indeed to be joined by our bishop , Jonathan +Ebbsfleet, who will preside and preach.


Refreshments will belaid on in the usual St Agatha's style, after Mass.
